As a Master in Management student at the University of Mannheim, I chose to pursue an exchange semester at Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management (SEM) because it represents one of the most prestigious academic institutions in China and globally. I hoped for it to offer a unique opportunity to engage directly with China's dynamic business and economic environment, which I wanted to experience firsthand.
What I gained most during my exchange semester was the opportunity to meet people from all around the world and build friendships rooted in our shared experiences in China. Connecting with fellow students from diverse backgrounds, we shared stories about our lives, our cultures, and the unique challenges and discoveries we encountered while navigating life in Beijing. These friendships enriched my time at Tsinghua tremendously, giving me fresh perspectives and creating a network of friends with whom I could exchange ideas, insights, and support. The sense of community we built together was one of the most rewarding aspects of my time abroad, making the experience both impactful and unforgettable.
