On August 26, 2024, a delegation of students from the MIT Sloan School of Management visited the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University. The visit was designed to promote mutual understanding, exchange ideas, and enhance cultural ties between China and the United States.
During the visit, the MIT delegation engaged in interactive sessions with faculty and students of Tsinghua SEM. Professor Bai Chong-En, Dean of Tsinghua SEM, warmly welcomed the visitors, sharing his personal experiences of studying in the United States and emphasizing the value of cross-cultural collaboration.
In addition to the welcome remark, lectures were delivered by Professor Da Wei, Director of Tsinghua’s Strategic and Security Research Center, Professor He Ping, Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, and Associate Professor Xu Mingtiao from Tsinghua SEM.
A highlight of the visit was a friendly table tennis match held at the Lihua Building—a nod to the historic Ping-Pong Diplomacy. The event reinforced the commitment of both institutions to foster youth engagement, academic collaboration, and cultural exchange.
